Hi, you might be here because you read my blog last year or you may have just stumbled upon me. Either way, welcome to my 2013 challenge :)
Last year I decided to do a 30 day challenge each month and blog about it. A lot of people have asked me what comes next now I've finished my challenges and if I’ll be carrying on my blog. I had an interesting 2012 and discovered so much about myself but another twelve challenges didn't seem feasible, especially as I didn't even complete the last two. Therefore I decided that 2013 is going to have just one challenge: ‘To Do the Classics’.
Now, if you know me you might know that I work in a library and that I read lots of books, however I have never read many of what you might call ‘the classics’. I found a list of a hundred books that the BBC believes everyone should have read of which I have only read seven! For a self-confessed bookworm this is pretty bad news.
Another topic that comes up quite frequently is how few 'classic' films I've seen. Whenever the discussion rolls around I brace myself for the looks of horror I know I’ll receive when they realise I've never seen The Goonies or something. In 2012 I was introduced to Ghostbusters and ET but there are still tonnes of films that people seem to think I need to watch.
2013 is going to be all about rectifying this. I'm going to use the BBC list as a starting point and aim to read at least one book from it each month which will give me plenty of time to read all of the other fluff that I enjoy :). For the films I asked friends what they thought and cross referenced their suggestions with the IMDb top 250. Again I'll need to watch at least one a month.
I also decided to get a change of scenery and move to Blogger for the year. So stick around and maybe give me a comment or two.
Happy New Year!
Ahem you need to watch more the one classic film a month!! Cant get away with that or you will only watch 12 lol!

I agree with Luke, there are certainly more than 12 classic films out there. Speaking of classic movies, have you seen Blues Brothers?
DeleteI set 12 as a minimum benchmark but will definitely watch more. Blues brothers is on the list :)
